Project: Montemar House
Location: Reñaca, Valparaíso Region, Chile
Year: 2024
Architects: Carlos Peña / Gregorio Vásquez
Area: 380 m²
Situated on the coastal slope of Reñaca, Montemar House is conceived as a contemplative retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The residence unfolds across three levels, adapting to the natural terrain and connected by a vertical elevator that spans from street level to a panoramic rooftop terrace.
The architectural design emphasizes a clean and expressive structure, where exposed reinforced concrete, dark wood, and glass define a contemporary, sober, and warm aesthetic. The lower volume functions as an autonomous apartment; the second level houses bedrooms and common areas, while the third level is dedicated to the contemplation of the marine landscape.
The house integrates with the terrain through stepped platforms, balconies, and planters, articulating the project as an extension of the coastal landscape.
