Project: ANNA House
Location: El Arrayán, Metropolitan Region, Chile
Year: 2022
Architects: Carlos Peña / Gregorio Vásquez
Area: 270 m²
Nestled at the foothills of the Andes in Santiago's El Arrayán sector, ANNA House emerges as an architectural piece attuned to its natural surroundings, enveloped by a lush forest of native species. This location marks the beginning of the route to the Metropolitan Region's ski centers, bestowing upon the site a threshold character between city and mountain. The design draws inspiration from the mountain's geometry and the aspiration to inhabit the landscape with sensitivity.
Conceived for a family seeking full accessibility for their daughter and a creative space for visual artist Cecilia Avendaño, the house opens up to the landscape through expansive glazed planes and a panoramic terrace.
Its architecture features inclined volumes and contemporary materials—corrugated steel, concrete, and glass—contrasted by interiors clad in native wood, imparting warmth, shelter, and an intimate atmosphere amidst the forest.More than a residence, ANNA House serves as a gallery to contemplate, create, and inhabit the landscape.
